University of Northern Iowa selects StatBroadcast for 2011-2012 Academic Year

CEDAR FALLS, IA -- The University of Northern Iowa and StatBroadcast Systems reached agreement today for StatBroadcast to provide its full complement of statistics services for UNI athletic events for the 2011-2012 academic year. The Northern Iowa Panthers' athletic events for football, mens and womens basketball, soccer, softball and volleyball will have live stats broadcasted for fans over the internet, available via the web and mobile devices. StatBroadcast will also provide its StatMonitr real-time stats service for media covering UNI events.

"It's my pleasure to introduce our first new partner for the 2011-2012 school year in the UNI Panthers. UNI enjoys a proud athletic tradition and we're happy to have them on board as part of the StatBroadcast network," said StatBroadcast president Nate Policar.

UNI is a public university located in Cedar Falls, Iowa. It was founded in 1876, has an enrollment of 11,147 and has ranked second in Midwest top public universities by U.S. News and World Report for twelve consecutive years. The UNI Panthers compete wearing their purple and gold in 16 varsity sports as part of the Missouri Valley Conference. They are also a member of the Missouri Valley Football Conference for NCAA Division-I FCS. UNI earned an automatic bid to the 2010 FCS Tournament by winning the MVFC conference and its mens basketball team has qualified for the NCAA tournament in five of the last eight years, most recently reaching the Sweet 16 in 2010 (the school's highest-ever finish) after defeating the number one seeded Kansas Jayhawks.

UNI represents the third Missouri Valley Conference team to use StatBroadcast for its statistics services, joining Bradley and Creighton. The MVC conference is also a StatBroadcast partner for its mens and womens basketball tournaments.
